I believe loving your home matters. Of course at the top of the list is the culture in your home but I’d argue that even the paint color matters. No a paint color won’t make you happy, but man it won’t hurt either. I hated this bathroom. The colors were all off and the tile never looked clean. A total bathroom renovation of this room was not in the budget so we had to get creative to transform this space.
First on the list was the cream/yellow vanity. Originally, I wanted to paint it dark and replace the vanity top to something similar to a marble look. However, early into the project we realized that removing the vanity top would require much more effort due to some decisions from a previous renovation. So we decided to paint it white (all products linked below), leave the vanity top and replace the knobs with leftover pulls from the kitchen remodel.
Next up – the tile. While this was a very inexpensive update it is very labor intensive. But I’d say totally worth it. We even painted the shower wall! Angela @angelarosehome shares the process of painting tile on her blog. You can also find so many great tutorials via Pinterest!
I couldn’t find a stencil that I liked – well I found a few but man were they expensive?!?! So I made my own using Canva.
After months of use, the painted tile is holding up great! The only place we have issue is the little shelf in the shower that seems to hold water. I purchased a little tray that seems to help.
But other than, no chips or scratches!
Here’s the final product!! What do you think?
I’m linking all of the products we used to achieve this look below. I’m loving the new look of this bathroom renovation on a budget!
